MS EWS Concepts
It took me quite a while to understand how Exchange works, and thus I will hereafter share the most important bits of information I have gathered concerning the concepts behind Exchange.
Folders and Items
There are 2 basic object types in an exchange store:
- Folders
- Items
Folders
Folders are comparable to the directories on your hard disk, in that they can contain other folders and items.
Items
Items are the actual content of the folders, you might compare them to records in a table. As with records for different tables, items do have different properties based on what type of record they contain (aka, what table they are).
